Lindsey Watson L.Ac.: Executive Director of Threaded Together Threaded Together recently won the Viola Award for Community Impact Organization!
At a recent interview with the AZ Daily Sun, Lindsey said, "I am so proud to be part of this organization that has become so meaningful to our community over the last three years. From making over 25,000 pieces of reusable PPE for our medical facilities and essential organizations during the pandemic, to providing free textile and sewing classes for teens in our shelter system and local hospital, I am just so proud of all we have accomplished during these first few years, even amidst the challenging circumstances of the pandemic. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community, so I am just unbelievably grateful for every individual, business, and grant-making organization that has shown us love over these past three years!" In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Liver functional system is associated with the Spring Season and the element of Wood. The Liver is considered to be the master organ of healing in the body and described as “the root of all endurance”. A healthy Liver system allows us to keep our physical and emotional energy alive and well. It is the strategizer and the planner, it is the system that gives us the ability to continue even in the face of adversity, the ability to “keep hope alive”. The Liver also plays a key role in healthy and restorative sleep, which is when our bodies do most of the healing work. It is said that the Liver “stores the blood” at night when we rest and it is where “the life force is stored”so having a healthy Liver system is key to a good night’s rest. The Chinese Zodiac animal, the Ox, is also associated with the Liver, with its qualities being the ability to do hard work, to endure, to push against the grain and its symbolism in the Chinese written language is strongly associated with the female archetype of hormonal and reproductive power with women’s ability to give birth and overcome that difficulty. Facial Rejuvenation sessions are full body acupuncture treatments that also include extra work on the face, including cupping, jade rolling, guasha, and tuina depending on your individual pattern of imbalance and what you need. Lindsey takes into consideration your TCM diagnosis and these sessions are whole body, holistic treatments, leaving you feeling ultra relaxed. Skincare is Healthcare In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the skin is related to the TCM organ Lung, or in other words, the Lung controls and regulates the skin. This is the Metal element. You know you have a Metal imbalance if you are experiencing:
If you are feeling like you may be out of imbalance in the Metal element, acupuncture can help. Also, follow these basic guidelines to help balance Metal:
Dr. Sarica Cernohous will be offering two new services at Harmonizing Healthcare: Epigenetic mapping and the Jet Plasma pen. Both are explained below but I do want to share a little bit of my personal experience with the Epigenetic Mapping Scan. In order to gather the information, a fresh hair follicle is needed. It has to be so fresh, that Dr. Sarica plucks it right when you start the scan (and no, it did not hurt, but I did give birth to 3 children! ). I was blown away by not just the accuracy of the information, but how easy and practical it all is to put into practice right away. I won’t go into ALL of my scan results but I will tell you that one of the biggest stresses to my body that came up top of the list was electro-interference, listing a computer monitor as an example of this type of stress. I would be embarrassed to tell you how many hours I spend on my computer between doing insurance billing and answering emails. It was a wake up call for me to say the least. Often, I do this work with my newborn baby on my lap! What am I exposing him to?! I have since been more cognizant of my computer use and turning it all the way off when I’m not using it. There are also devices you can plug in to help with these sorts of interferences as well. Another stress that came up was my need for additional selenium. It even listed the foods to consume more of that would allow me to get the nutrients I needed more of. It also gave me a list of the foods I should avoid for the next 90 days. Needless to say, I was very impressed by the amount of helpful, useful information I was able to get instantly and put into practice that very same day. I am just in awe of our evolution as humans in all areas, but especially health and science. We are definitely living in exciting times! Below is more information on both the Epigenetic Mapping Scan and the Plasma Pen. Let us know if you have any questions. If you would like to have your own mapping done, call the clinic to set up an appointment with Dr. Sarica. Because of her busy schedule, we will only be booking these particular services once a month, so call the clinic if you would like to reserve your spot. For June, she will be offering these services a half day on Tuesday June 21st and a half day on Wednesday June 22nd. |
